Something significant has been taking shape behind the scenes, and today we’re proud to bring it into the open.
LiveStay is the new umbrella platform that unites our portfolio of Living Sector brands under one clear, future-focused identity. It reflects the scale and breadth of what we have built over more than 30 years and gives us a single, cohesive way to describe who we are across the full living spectrum.
LiveStay brings together three distinct and established brands under one cohesive identity:
Together, these brands span the full living spectrum, from short and medium-term apartment hotels and serviced apartments through to co-living and Build-to-Rent. LiveStay sits above them as the connecting platform, giving a clear and unified way to describe the breadth of what the business delivers today.
The name itself reflects this range. “Live”, pronounced as in a place to live, represents the longer-term living brands and offerings, including UKO, our co-living and Build-to-Rent brand. “Stay” represents Veriu Hotels & Suites and Punthill Apartment Hotels, serving short and medium-term accommodation needs.
LiveStay currently operates across more than 90 sites throughout Australia, with approximately 5,950 keys either operating or under construction and a team of around 600 people nationwide.
The Living Sector has matured considerably, and the distinctions between hotels, serviced apartments, co-living and residential living are becoming increasingly fluid. The way people think about where they stay, live and work continues to shift.
LiveStay has been established to reflect that reality. It speaks to the scale and depth of the business, the ability to operate across multiple living models and the way the group works with owners and developers to identify and deliver the right operating solution for each asset.
Each brand continues to operate exactly as it does today. LiveStay connects them without changing what makes each one distinct. This is not a new business, it is the natural progression of something that has been developing over many years, now united under one clear platform.
The LiveStay platform made its first physical mark with the sod-turning ceremony for Veriu Adelaide on Wakefield, a landmark moment for the business and for the broader Australian living sector.
The development is Australia’s first integrated dual-brand project of its kind, combining an apartment hotel and co-living within a single tower and bringing short, medium and long-term living together within one asset.
Located in the Adelaide CBD and scheduled to open in 2028, the development will include:
Veriu Adelaide on Wakefield is the first built expression of what LiveStay represents, demonstrating how different living models can be brought together within a single development to meet a diverse range of guest and resident needs. It is the first of many developments that will carry the LiveStay platform forward.
While LiveStay marks an important step forward for the group, it is worth being clear about what is not changing.
Veriu Hotels & Suites, Punthill Apartment Hotels and UKO will each continue to operate exactly as they do today, with the same teams, the same structures and the same day-to-day ways of working. No roles or responsibilities are changing as a result of this announcement. More details and updates will be shared in the months ahead as the platform continues to develop.
