Job Title

Super Host (Duty Manager)

Our name means True & Genuine, and from humble beginnings our brand was founded out of a genuine passion for connecting travellers to the authenticity of a location by providing comfortable and bespoke accommodation. Today, we are a multi-brand accommodation group operating 17 hotels (and growing!) across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.

Although each property we operate is unique and true to the location it is situated, we possess the same guest service philosophy that drives what we do each and every day.

We have an ambitious pipeline of new hotels that will see us continue to expand across the country, with the goal of operating 80+ hotels by 2030! As we embark on this journey, we are focused on building long-lasting relationships with a great sense of integrity, surrounding ourselves with talented individuals driven by self-growth, all while operating with an ownership mindset.

Our teams at both Head Office and our properties are passionate business partners, dedicated to providing incredible guest experiences and exceptional results through their respective roles.

As we run towards a post-covid future, we are ramping up our team in excitement for the return of travel and the pending openings of our new hotels. As a result, an excellent opportunity exists for 3 Duty Managers (we call them Super Hosts!) to join our team in Melbourne on a full-time basis.

We are looking for individuals who have a high sense of pride in their work, have a great sense of initiative and who want to accelerate their career in Hotel Management.

You will be based at any one of our hotels in Melbourne and may work across our various properties to develop your skills and provide support. This role is a genuine pathway to being a Hotel Manager in 2-3 years.

In this role, some of your responsibilities will be to:

  • Provide a high level of guest services to guests at check-in, check-out and during stay
  • Be the first level escalation in providing resolutions to complaints and problems
  • Identify new ways to leave guests with a lasting memorable experience
  • Use your inquisitive nature to identify new sales leads, encouraging the team to do the same
  • Respond to emergency situations in a safe and professional matter
  • Display a strong attention to detail & self-motivation
  • Have flexible availability: morning, day & evening shifts, Monday to Sunday
  • Build strong and authentic relationships with your teammates and our guests
  • Oversee the front office and housekeeping departments
  • Be the hotel’s Front Office trainer, assisting with the training of new staff in alignment with Veri-Best practice
  • Complete rostering and time/attendance approvals
  • Provide support and assistance to the Hotel Manager in higher-level hotel management and admin tasks, in order to prepare yourself for a future Hotel Manager role

We work in a fast-paced environment where no day is the same, so we’re looking for people who are adaptable, enjoy variety and are able to work a flexible roster in line with the nature of hotels.

We would love if you were equally as passionate about your career growth as we are about seeing our portfolio of hotels grow, and alignment to our company values of Relationship Focused, Integrity, Ownership Mindset and Personal Growth is a must!

You will need or be willing to obtain the following to fulfill the requirements of the role:

  • First Aid certificate
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate
  • Infection Control Training certificate
  • Police Check (some roles)
  • Pre-Employment Medical Assessment (some roles)

As a Hotel Group in its infancy stages embarking on an ambitious growth trajectory, we are looking for passionate and motivated like-minded individuals to join our team. We keep our structure simple because we believe strongly in developing our people to be well-rounded professionals. This allows us to accelerate our people’s careers into management roles quickly and provide cross-exposure between Corporate Office and operations.

Our career map promotes tailored career paths for each member of our team – the pathways are endless! No matter the role you hold, you are a business partner with the ability to truly make an impact.

We have a comprehensive onboarding program and a Fast-Track Management Program in its pilot stage. Opportunities for career growth are plentiful and we also offer other benefits such as discounts on accommodation and an unrivaled culture.

Veriu Group is a proud Equal Employment Opportunity Employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity. We celebrate and embrace the creativity, insights and experiences that are created by diversity and welcome people of all backgrounds, experiences and abilities to apply.
