As Relief Hotel Manager, you will be a “business owner”, leading by example & purposefully seeking more to support and contribute to exceeding benchmarks & targets. Day-to-day you will manage a dedicated Front Office and Housekeeping team to ensure a seamless and above-expected experience for each and every guest. While doing so, you will drive the cluster & corporate resources available to you and take ownership of the business to ensure favourable revenue outcomes.

To us, the role of Relief Hotel Manager is so much more than operations.


You will be based in Melbourne, and will provide relief management support to our 11 Melbourne hotels, however from time to time we may require you to provide relief support interstate at our Sydney and Brisbane hotels.

In this role, you will be accountable for playing a senior role in supporting the performance of hotel’s within your cluster and supporting the Cluster Hotel Manager. Your areas of focus will be to:

  • Maintain hotel operational efficiency to benchmarks
  • Actively participate in sales lead generation, data capture & business development
  • Build key local relationships with guests, agents, customers, partners & suppliers
  • Financial management & monthly reporting to the CEO, Director of Operations & Owners
  • Compliance of relevant licensing, OH&S and Covid19 Safety Plan regulations
  • Purchasing/supply management
  • Manage, coordinate & oversee the complete operations of the hotel, including Front Office & Housekeeping department team & tasks
  • Identify property maintenance concerns & liaise with the Group Technical Services Manager as to the coordination of maintenance requirements across rooms & common areas
  • End to end guest experience management
  • Drive cohesion and the Veriu Group culture amongst the cluster

Talent Profile

We are looking for someone who is ready to hit the ground running, who brings with them strong experience in hotel management and who has the proven ability to drive, influence and empower.

Skills in revenue management and/or business development are desirable.

Must haves include a valid Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate, First Aid Certificate and alignment to our company values of Relationship Focused, Integrity, Ownership Mindset and Personal Growth.
